Roy Hodgson provides updates on Crystal Palace trio after Leicester defeat

Palace beaten by Leicester

Crystal Palace played host to Leicester in Sunday’s early Premier League kick-off.

Palace headed into the tie without a win in their last two but those two ties did come against Manchester City and Arsenal.

As for Leicester, they had won three of their last four PL matches before kicking off at Selhurst Park.

It would be the Foxes who dominated proceedings on Sunday with goals from Caglar Soyuncu and Jamie Vardy ensuring Leicester came away with all three points.

Leicester’s win over Palace also gave their top-four ambitions a big boost as they are back up to 3rd in the table, two points adrift of second-place Man City.

Hodgson provides updates on Palace trio

After the clash, Roy Hodgson has provided updates on three Crystal Palace players.

The Eagles’ boss confirmed that James McArthur felt his back quite seriously in the second 45.

Hodgson then spoke about Gary Cahill and Cheikhou Kouyate, stating they both suffered blows to the head.

However, Hodgson believes the duo will be in training on Tuesday:

“The worse one is McArthur because he has been struggling with a back injury.

“He definitely felt his back quite seriously during that second half, that’s why we had to take him off. He was actually having a very good game but his back injury prevented him from continuing.

“As for Gary Cahill and Cheikhou Kouyate they were blows to the head, which we see more and more these days but I don’t think either of those two will be out of training on Tuesday but they may have a sore head this evening and they will need tomorrow to recover.” As quoted by the Evening Standard.
