Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino & Real Madrid
The Spanish press got the quote they were looking for from Mauricio Pochettino at the FIFA Best awards on Monday.
Reporter Edu Aguirre spoke to Pochettino as the Tottenham boss arrived at the event.
Pochettino was asked if he was interested in taking over at Real Madrid.
Instead of shutting down the question, Pochettino replied “maybe some year”.

Do Real Madrid want to sign Pochettino?
Yes, claim the Mirror on Tuesday.
Despite being joint-top of La Liga after five rounds of the new season, the mood at Real Madrid feels sour.
Last week’s 3-0 loss away at PSG in the Champions League was the latest indication that Real Madrid are still way off their best.
Amid doubts whether Zinedine Zidane is the right man to lead Madrid right now, the Mirror today report:
Real Madrid are ready to make a fresh approach for Mauricio Pochettino.
The Spanish giants will make the Tottenham boss their No.1 target if they decide to replace Zinedine Zidane this season.

Pochettino’s Tottenham contract clarified
Should Spurs be worried about losing Pochettino?
The Argentine signed a five-year contract in 2018, leaving him under contract in north London until 2023.
Moreover, Pochettino earns around £8.5 million a year with the Lillywhites, as reported by the Guardian.
Would Real Madrid really sack Zidane?
That remains to be seen.
However, should Los Blancos decide to axe Zidane, that decision would be pricey.
The Sun recently looked into how much sacking Zidane would cost, revealing:
Zidane agreed to a three and a half season contract when he made his return to the Bernabeu in March.
The club have vowed to pay him £11.5million per season and will have to find the funds to bring in a new manager.
In total including fees covering his dismissal and tax, the club would expect to lose £70.5 million.
