Antoine Griezmann admits he doesn’t know when his club future will be resolved amid Barcelona links

Atletico Madrid wantaway Antoine Griezmann last night briefly spoke out over his future, admitting that he is, as of now, not aware of when a resolution could be found.

Atleti exit

On the back of 5 hugely-successful years on the books of the Rojiblancos, Griezmann announced his intention to depart the Wanda Metropolitano 3 weeks ago.

After Atletico released a surprise statement, revealing that their star man had informed the club’s board that he would seek pastures new this summer, Griezmann himself provided a full explanation for his decision in a parting video:

‘It’s been an incredible five years. Thank you very much for everything. I will take you in my heart.’

Barca bound?

As such, Griezmann’s announcement has since led to inevitable speculation surrounding where the World Cup winner is set to end up next.

Atleti’s La Liga rivals Barcelona have been the outfit most persistently-touted as a potential destination, with the Blaugrana having initially been rumoured to be ready to activate the attacker’s 125 million Euro release clause.

However, while developments towards a deal being completed had since been expected, mounting reports have suggested that Barcelona are having second thoughts regarding Atleti’s star man.

After Marca suggested last week that Griezmann was no longer viewed as ‘a priority’ signing by the board at the Camp Nou, Mohamed Bouhafsi of RMC Sport subsequently went on to state earlier today that Lionel Messi is not particularly keen on linking up with the Frenchman in Catalunya:

‘A good question’

As such, following France’s 2-0 international friendly win over Bolivia last night, a game during which Griezmann found the net, the 28-year-old was asked for an update on his club future.

Griezmann, though, admitted that, as things stand, he remains very much in the dark over his impending Atleti departure:

‘I don’t know when my future will be resolved.’

‘That’s a good question.’

‘Everything will come in time.’
