Harry Kane reacts after Man City injury

Massive blow for Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham achieved an incredibly important result against Manchester City on Tuesday night but it wasn’t all good news.

Spurs had to use their new stadium to their advantage if they had any hope of winning the game and they did just that, winning the clash 1-0.

Son Heung-min scored the all-important goal in the 78th minute, giving Tottenham a small advantage ahead of the second leg at the Etihad next week.

Though, Spurs did suffer a huge blow during the game, one that could have repercussions in the second leg and for the rest of the season.

Serious injury could have repercussions

That is because Harry Kane had to be substituted with a very serious looking injury during the second half.

Fabian Delph played the ball down the line but his follow-through led to the City man going into Kane’s ankle.

Kane was then taken off and needed support just to get down the tunnel.

With that in mind, it’s almost certain that Kane will miss the second leg of the Champions League clash with Manchester City.

Not only that, judging by the way it looked when Kane was led down the tunnel, he could also miss the rest of the season.

That could be very bad news for Spurs, who are struggling to finish in the Premier League top four as it is.

Losing their star striker could even mean they finish as low as 6th after such a promising campaign.

Now, Kane has spoken out following his ankle injury.

Kane responds on social media

The Englishman took to social media to explain that he was ‘gutted’ to be forced off.

Though, ‘every setback is a chance to come back stronger than ever’.

For Spurs’ sake, they’ll have to hope losing their star man won’t hit them hard.
