Can Man City win the quadruple?
Whenever that question has been posed to Pep Guardiola the answer is always a firm ‘no’.
Indeed, the Man City boss has labelled winning all four major competitions an impossible dream.
Yet, heading into the final weeks of the season, Man City are still on course to make history.
They’ve won the League Cup, while booking a spot in the FA Cup final against Watford.
If Man City win all their remaining Premier League matches, the title is theirs too.
While the Sky Blues are favourites to reach the Champions League semifinals having drawn Tottenham.
Good news for Liverpool & Man United
But could Man City winning the quadruple help rivals like Liverpool and Man United?
Possibly, as rumours have been aired on BBC radio that Pep Guardiola could leave Man City if they win the four trophies.
For the record, Guardiola has one more year to run on his current City contract.
Pep Guardiola quit rumours
According to former footballer, now talking-head Michael Brown, Guardiola would consider his Man City future if they win the quadruple.
Speaking on BBC 5 Live radio, Brown intimated that he’s heard the Guardiola rumour from a source.
When asked to revealed his source, Brown said: C’mmon! Don’t put me on the spot like that!
The main tenant to the Guardiola quit rumour is that Spaniard would want to leave Man City after a quadruple as he wouldn’t be able to better that result.
