Viewers of the crunch clash between Liverpool and Chelsea this evening have flooded to Twitter, to take aim at Reds’ star Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool vs Chelsea
The two sides are currently locked in action at Anfield, in a crucial matchup in the race for both the Premier League title, and a spot in the top-4.
Liverpool’s latest outing saw the Merseysiders put Portuguese giants Porto to the sword by 2 goals to nil on Tuesday night, in the process putting one foot in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
On the domestic front, though, Manchester City’s 3-1 win at Crystal Palace earlier today saw the Citizens once again leapfrog Liverpool to the summit of the English top-flight table, ahead of kick-off on Merseyside.
The upturn in form being enjoyed by Chelsea of late, meanwhile, saw the visitors head into this evening’s clash aware that a 3-point haul would vault them back above Tottenham into 3rd in the Premier League table.
The capital outfit’s victory over Slavia Prague in the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday came as their 4th straight across all competitions.
And the Blues have since subsequently carried their improved form into the opening 45 minutes at Anfield.
6 – Liverpool haven’t won any of their last six Premier League games at Anfield against Chelsea (D4 L2); the Reds have never endured a longer winless home run against an opponent in the competition. Crunch. #LIVCHE pic.twitter.com/R4n2v3rxtJ

A back-and-forth first-half, during which both sides impressed for the most-part, has seen Chelsea and Liverpool head into the interval with the score locked at 0-0.
Sadio Mane drove Liverpool’s best chance of the half beyond Kepa’s near post, while Eden Hazard fired straight at Alisson from a tight angle.
Salah simulation
The main talking point surrounding the opening 45 minutes, however, has not proven goalmouth action.
It has instead surrounded the attempts of Mohamed Salah to win an early penalty for Liverpool.
After skipping beyond Willian with ease to get to the end-line, Egyptian wide-man Salah attempted to cut past David Luiz, but only managed to run the ball out of play.
However, instead of simply carrying on his run, the Liverpool star opted to throw himself to the ground, in a blatant act of simulation.
‘Giving an exceptional player a bad reputation’
And it is safe to say that Salah’s latest dive has not gone down at all well with viewers, with droves of fans having since taken to social media to take aim at the 26-year-old for his ’embarrassing’ moment:
SLIP UPDATE: Nobody has slipped, but we have seen a horrendous dive by Mo Salah.

What an embarrasing dive from Mo Salah – another to add to the collection.

Why is that not a yellow card for a blatant dive by Salah ffs 😡😡

First Salah dive of the afternoon.

Most players dive once or twice but surely Liverpool fans are fed up of Mo Salah diving now? Giving an exceptional player a bad reputation.

What a shameful dive from Salah.
Referee should book him here. Absolute cheat Salah is.

Salah’s reputation has gone down the drain this season. Went from being the most humble man in football to a consistent cheat, 5 inexcusable dives this season.

Laughable dive from Salah. Not sure why he’s not been booked for simulation there.

Oh my god. What a fucking dive. Salah at it again.

Salah is the biggest cheat in the PL. Would be nice if Carragher took off his red-tinted glasses for once and commented on what he saw.
