Viewers of Manchester City’s victory over Crystal Palace this afternoon have taken to Twitter to express concern over the fitness of Sergio Aguero.
Palace 1-3 Man City
Pep Guardiola’s champions travelled to Selhurst Park a short time ago, for their latest Premier League outing.
The Citizens headed into proceedings on the back of their first defeat since January last time out, having been put to the sword by Tottenham in the first-leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie between the clubs on Tuesday night.
Nevertheless, back on the domestic front, City were aware that a 3-point haul in London this afternoon would see them leapfrog Liverpool back to the top of the Premier League table (at least temporarily).
And put the pressure back on Jurgen Klopp’s men with a victory was precisely what the Sky Blues subsequently went on to do.
After opening the game’s scoring with a quarter of an hour on the clock, Raheem Sterling went on to notch his brace just past the hour-mark.
Hosts Palace set up a nervy close to proceedings when Luka Milivojević found the net with a pinpoint free-kick from the edge of the box 10 minute from time, but Gabriel Jesus made sure of City’s 3 points in the 90th-minute, slotting home at Vicente Guaita’s near post after being released by Kevin De Bruyne.

Aguero concern?
On an otherwise positive afternoon for the Manchester giants, however, one source of concern surrounding the showing of the Blues was the performance of Sergio Aguero.
The Argentine appeared just a touch off the pace at Selhurst Park, having looked similarly short of his brilliant best versus Spurs on Tuesday night.
As such, with Aguero having also headed straight down the tunnel after being replaced by Gabriel Jesus 15 minutes from time, many have since suggested that the 30-year-old may be short of full fitness, a concern ahead of City’s return meeting with Tottenham in 3 days’ time:
If I had to be really picky, Aguero has not been up to his usual standards. He’s being replaced by Jesus. Wonder if Guardiola has a decision to make on Wednesday night…

Aguero doesn’t look fit. And he didn’t look fit in midweek either. #CRYMCI

Sergio Aguero doesn’t look 100% fit to me. That was clearly visibility against spurs in mid week and today again. He is just there to scare the opponents #bbcfootball
