The Sky Blues moved a point above Liverpool on Wednesday night.
That’s after City claimed a comfortable 2-0 home win over Cardiff City at the Etihad Stadium.
Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for the hosts after just six minutes of the match.
Leroy Sane killed off the Bluebirds with a second just before the break.

It’s been a difficult year for De Bruyne, as he’s been sidelined on a couple of occasions with injuries.
KBD’s goal against Cardiff was just his second of the season in the Premier League. De Bruyne’s other goal came against Crystal Palace.
De Bruyne’s strike against Cardiff was memorable.
Aymeric Laporte slid a perfect pass to De Bruyne as he broke through the Cardiff backline.

The Belgian met the through-ball on the edge of the six-yard box, and De Bruyne rifled home a superb strike into the roof of the net.
Neil Etheridge in the Cardiff goal had no chance at saving the shot.

What Neil Warnock said to Kevin De Bruyne
After the full time whistle, Cardiff manager Neil Warnock made a beeline over to De Bruyne.
With Etheridge stood in close proximity, Warnock trolled KBD by asking him if he meant to score his goal.
Cue laughter from all three men.
