Bayern come into the midweek clash in great form.

The Bavarians following up a 5-1 win over Gladbach by beating Wolfsburg 6-0 on Saturday.

As a result, Bayern have moved into first pace above Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have dropped behind Man City in the Premier League in recent weeks.

In the final stages of the match, Trent Alexander-Arnold was forced out of the game with an injury.

Will Alexander-Arnold be fit for the Bayern game?

Paul Joyce has posted a positive update in the Times on Tuesday:

One man who hopes to play his part is Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has a sore back but is optimistic that he will be available for selection.

Elsewhere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain finally return to the pitch last Friday night fir Liverpool U23s.

Unfortunately for Oxlade-Chamberlain, however, his first comeback match ended early. Indeed AOC didn’t even play the full first half.

Paul Joyce has also updated Liverpool fans on the Ox’s latest injury status:

Klopp has played down concerns over Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s fitness after a muscle issue forced him off after only 41 minutes against Derby County under-23s on Friday, in his first appearance in almost a year after a serious knee injury.

“The good news is the knee is perfect.” Klopp said. “Football games are different to football training, that’s why he felt the muscle a little bit.”
