Potential Everton injury blow: Lucas Digne suffers injury with France

Big blow for Everton’s Lucas Digne

Everton defender Lucas Digne has reportedly suffered an injury during the international break and will miss France’s clash with Moldova.

The Frenchman was recalled to the national side after some time away from the team.

This comes after some stunning performances from Everton during the season.

Signing from Barcelona in a permanent deal last summer, Digne has become an integral part of Marco Silva’s team, replacing veteran Leighton Baines.

During that time, Digne has been statistically been one of the best Premier League defenders.

His stats in February actually saw him top of the charts for the most ‘big chances’ created.

That form has seen Digne rewarded with a return to the national team setup.

Though, his recall hasn’t gone to plan.

Potential injury layoff

As is being reported by RMC, Digne has suffered an injury during training.

They claim that the defender ‘felt a pain in the left thigh’ during their last training session before the game against Moldova.

As a result, Digne will miss the game and Layvin Kurzawa could replace him.

There is no mention of whether Digne could miss France’s second game of the international break against Iceland on Monday.

Should he miss both games, there would be alarm bells ringing at Everton.

The Toffees will face off against West Ham the following Saturday and will be in need of their star left-back if they are to cut the gap between them and the Hammers in the Premier League.

Inter Milan to rival Everton for Andre Gomes transfer

Digne wasn’t the only player Everton signed from Barcelona last summer.

Both Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes followed later on in the window.

Though, Gomes is yet to complete a permanent move to Goodison Park.

Now, Inter Milan are set to rival Everton for his signature.
