A storm is brewing at the Etihad
UEFA have officially opened an investigation into Manchester City over a potential Financial Fair play breach which was leaked at the end of 2018.
A report by Der Spiegel last year suggested that the Cityzens had broken FFP regulations.
The accusations claimed that owner Sheikh Mansour funded significant parts deals with club sponsors to avoid UEFA sanctions.
Not only that, it was suggested that UEFA president Gianni Infantino helped them avoid financial fair play regulations.
The Times then chimed in by suggesting that if Man City are guilty of bending the rules, they could be expelled from the Champions League.
That would be a huge blow for Pep Guardiola and City who are looking to take their domestic success to the European stage.
Now, UEFA have formally opened an investigation into the clubs dealings.

As reported by Sky Sports, this comes following previously reported breaches.
“UEFA Club Financial Control Body opens investigation into Manchester City for alleged Financial Fair Play violations,” A UEFA statement explained in Sky’s report.
“The Investigatory Chamber of the independent UEFA Club Financial Control Body has today opened a formal investigation into Manchester City FC for potential breaches of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.
“The investigation will focus on several alleged violations of FFP that were recently made public in various media outlets.
“UEFA will make no further comments on the matter while the investigation is ongoing.”
Only time will tell if Manchester City are found guilty of anything but if they are, fans may be worried about what the punishment would be.
