Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino was named Manager of the Year at the London Football Awards.
The Argentine claimed the award despite his side’s recent blip and yet another potentially trophyless season.
However, in his speech, Pochettino was able to see the funny side of Tottenham’s lack of silverware since his arrival.

The 46-year-old beat Charlton’s Lee Bowyer, Watford’s Javi Gracia, Arsenal Women’s Joe Montemurro and Chelsea’s Maurizio Sarri to claim the award.
Last term, he helped guide Spurs to finish as the highest-placed London club in the Premier League for the first time in 23 years.
After scooping the award for the first time, he was able to see the funny side of his trophy misfortunes.
Pochettino said:
“I want to say thank you to the Willow Foundation for this award.
“For me it’s a great honour to win this award.
“Of course, like people joke before – finally I have won a trophy!”

Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-min Son claimed the Player of the Year award.
Following his impressive performances for both club and country, the last 12 months have seen South Korean become one of the best wide-men in world football.
His form since November has been especially impressive having carried Tottenham during the absence of both Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
Son told the Evening Standard:
“The gaffer trusted me and I am so grateful.
“He made my dream come true. I am more than grateful – it is difficult to say.
“I have worked four years with the gaffer. It is just amazing.
“I think I am the most happiest guy in the world, especially in the Premier League.
“It is an honour to play in the Premier League. When I see this award, I know I can’t sleep tonight.”
