Manchester United vs Liverpool

There’s no doubt what the big match in the Premier League is this weekend.

Manchester United host Liverpool at Old Trafford in a pivotal match at the top of the table.

Having played a game more, Man City are currently above Liverpool on goal difference.

A win for the Reds this weekend in their game in hand will take Jurgen Klopp’s men three points clear.

But Man United will fancy their chances this Sunday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side rebounded from a 2-0 defeat to PSG by knocking Chelsea out the FA Cup.

United would love to put a dent in Liverpools title challenge next.

Stan Collymore’s prediction

In his weekly column in the Mirror, Stan Collymore has looked ahead to the weekend’s United vs Liverpool match.

Collymore’s prediction about Sunday’s match comes before Liverpool take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

On the Bayern game, Collymore expressed his fears that Fabinho, who is set o play at centre-half, could be Liverpool’s weakness:

The message in Bayern’s team meeting will be simple, with Niko Kovac telling his men: “If Fabinho plays at the back, we prey on him.”

Early on, (Robert) Lewandowski might find Fabinho fairly mobile, but then he’ll be looking to pull him to the left or right of the 18-yard box, or perhaps entice him out by dropping off a little more than usual.

On United vs Liverpool, Collymore expressed his fears for the Reds if they come unstuck against the Bavarians:

Against Manchester United on Sunday, I fear the damage a defeat could do and I’d go as far as to say all bets are off in terms of the title if should Liverpool lose that game.

Virgil van Dijk is suspended for Liverpool’s match against Bayern.

However the Dutch defender s available for the trip to Manchester.
