Footage of travelling Celtic supporters being ‘dealt with’ by police in Spain has emerged online, ahead of the Hoops’ meeting with Valencia tonight.
Celtic 0-2 Valencia
Brendan Rodgers’ men are set for the second-leg of their Europa League round-of-32 tie at the Mestalla later today.
The Scottish champions have a monumental task at hand to secure their place in the tournament’s last-16, having fallen to a 2-0 defeat in the tie’s reverse fixture in Parkhead last week.
Despite Celtic having dominated possession in Glasgow, the class of Valencia eventually told, with strikes from Denis Cheryshev and Ruben Sobrino either side of half-time having seen the visitors emerge with a relatively-straightforward win.
It was the Denis Cheryshev show.
The Russian broke the deadlock for Valencia away at Celtic – AND provided a glorious assist – while a former #ALeague target was far from impressive…#OptusSport #UEL pic.twitter.com/touhwPYP67

Celtic fans beaten
Despite their side’s slim chances of progression, though, droves of Celtic’s loyal fans have nevertheless made the trip to Spain to watch the Scottish giants in action tonight.
However, after taking to the streets of Valencia last night, large sections of the Bhoys’ faithful came in for a dose of harsh treatment on the part of the local authorities.
As showcased in the videos below, the Valencia police force, for the most-part unprovoked, beat fans with batons, floored others and created an altogether tense atmosphere ahead of this evening’s matchup at the Mestalla:
