Christian Pulisic

It could have been very different for Pulisic

Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic signed for Chelsea on Wednesday but it has now been revealed that Arsenal missed the chance to sign him.

The American star has been a revelation in the Bundesliga for a couple of years now.

Despite being only 20-years-old, it feels as though he has been around for much longer than he has, such is the scale of his rise.

Now, his rise is set to continue in the Premier League after it was announced he has joined Chelsea.

The Blues signed Pulisic in a deal said to be worth €64million.

However, he will spend the rest of the season on loan at Dortmund.

The German side were unwilling to lose him midway through the season and the player preferred to kickstart his Chelsea career in the summer.

Though, a move may never have happened if he had joined Arsenal when he was 14.

Another one that slipped through Arsenal’s fingers

It has been revealed today by The Independent’s Jack Pitt-Brooke on social media that the Gunners were looking to sign him several years ago.

The American was on trial at the club aged 14 but as he had not yet received an EU passport, it would have been an illegal signing.

Unfortunately for them, that meant that Arsenal would miss out on the forward.

Safe to say, they will be very disappointed after the way he turned out.

That’s another name to add to the long list of players who nearly signed for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal…
