Chelsea boss Sarri confirms he wants to talk to ‘3, 4 or 5 players’ after Leicester defeat

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has today confirmed that a number of his side’s stars look set to feel the Italian tactician’s wrath, following the Blues’ showing versus Leicester City at the weekend.

Chelsea 0-1 Leicester

Chelsea welcomed Claude Puel’s Foxes to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon, on the back of 3 straight Premier League victories.

Leicester, meanwhile, had not won in 4 across all competitions.

As such, it came as a major surprise when the visitors emerged from London with all 3 points.

A solitary Jamie Vardy strike proved the difference between the sides, with Chelsea having lost further ground on the Premier League’s top-3 as a result.

‘Our reaction was not right’

And, speaking in a press conference earlier today, Blues’ boss Maurizio Sarri revealed his frustration with how his side reacted to falling behind on Sunday, imploring his players to be more-intently focused when they visit Watford on Wednesday night:

‘I think that in this moment we have to think about us, only about our team.’

‘The match is difficult. We know we have to study this kind of opponent very well [but] I think that now the most important thing is our reaction after the [Leicester] match.’

‘In the match our reaction was not in the right way. And now we have to think about our reaction after the match, just in order to prepare in the right way.’

Sarri also added that he and his staff will be preparing a video for Chelsea’s players in a bid to highlight their mistakes versus Leicester, and that a number of the Blues’ stars look set for a stern talking to regarding their respective roles in the defeat:

‘I think that I have an idea about what happened [against Leicester], so I want only a confirmation.’

‘We will prepare a video for the individual mistakes. I want to speak with the group first of all. And then I want to speak with three, four, five players. I don’t know how many at the moment.’
