Arsenal want to sign Brentford’s Ezri Konsa in January

Ezri Konsa to join Arsenal

Arsenal are keen to bring Brentford defender Ezri Konsa to the Emirates in the January window, according to the Mirror.

Konsa joined his current club Brentford in July of 2018 from Charlton for a fee of just over £2 million.

The 21-year-old made an impressive 86 appearances for Charlton, during which he would score once.

So far, for Brentford, Konsa has made 17 appearances in all competitions and has even captained them on one occasion despite being so young.

Konsa has also featured for England at an under-20, 17 and 21 level and was a part of the England under-20 squad that won the World Cup.

However, Brentford as a club are not having the greatest season.

They are 15th in the Championship and have won just one of their last four games.

As a result, Konsa may well be open to a January move to Arsenal.

Arsenal’s unbeaten run

If Konsa does move to Arsenal in January, he will be joining a very in-form side.

Arsenal lost their first two league games of the season vs Man City and Chelsea.

Since then, however, Arsenal have gone undefeated in their proceeding 11 league games.

Arsenal are also undefeated in the Europa League this season and in the League Cup where they saw off Konsa’s Brentford in a 3-1 win.

Arsenal’s latest victory came on Sunday as they beat a good Bournemouth side 2-1 thanks to an own goal and a Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang strike.

Unai Emery’s side are now on a 17 games unbeaten run, which is the longest of any side in Europe’s top five leagues.
